Help Desk Technician

Phoenix Health Systems, Inc., a nationally recognized healthcare IT outsourcing and consulting firm is currently seeking a Help Desk Technician to work in the Richardson, TX metro area.
Summary:
Primary point of contact responsible for providing and monitoring customer services as related to information systems and telecom needs. Responsible for staffing the Help Desk, establishing trends and measuring designated service levels, supporting project teams and promoting applications/releases.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Staffs and operates the Help Desk 24/7, with rotating shifts and occasional overtime. On-Call shift work required.
- Customer Service – interfaces with end users/clients regarding all equipment problems.
- Maintains proficiency in primary applications, various operating systems and software packages.
- Monitors and reports status and trends of open Help Desk issues.
- Creation and distribution of Network and other computer user codes.
- Supports and operates the Customer Service Center.
- Supports the IT team, including project development and system maintenance efforts as requested.
- Troubleshoots customer issues over the phone via remote computer logon.
- Assists in improving effectiveness of personal computers.
- Complies with reasonable requests to perform other duties.
Qualifications:
- In depth working knowledge of personal computer systems and all end user peripheral devices managed by IT.
- Must have a familiarity and working knowledge of an IT Problem Management System.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose PC Hardware/Software issues and problems with equipment (e.g., cables, terminals, keyboards, etc.) and possess good mechanical/electrical ability.
- Able to multi task in a high energy, diverse environment, working closely as a team to meet Help Desk standards.
- Must possess a noticeably positive and aggressive attitude concerning support of the Information Technology team in providing excellent customer service.
- Able to research, recommend and deploy technologies that will enhance the efficiencies and effectiveness of the Help Desk and IT Operations.
- Able to communicate effectively and interact with both management and staff levels within the organization, including medical staff.
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
- Must be able to think logically and analytically and make good decisions based on sound judgment.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 5 years related work experience required.
- Experience with Novell, Microsoft, Cisco, Unix AIX OS.
- A+ Certification or MCSE required, Network Certification preferred.
- Experience in IT Operations Support in a health care setting preferred, including specific vendor applications and systems utilized in this position.
