Sr. Systems Analyst

Phoenix Health Systems, Inc., a nationally recognized healthcare IT outsourcing and consulting firm is currently seeking a Sr. Systems Analyst to work at our client site in the Cheverly, MD metro area.

Summary:
Responsible for providing technical support and project management for installation, ongoing maintenance and enhancement of client business applications;  Coordinate with other Information Systems staff and client department staff to meet the needs of the client and provide maximum functionality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acts as Project Manager for the implementation of new systems, and major enhancements to existing systems.
  • Analyzes client needs and recommends application related enhancements or additions to the client department
  • Evaluates departmental use of applications, including workflows.  Assists departments in developing appropriate procedures related to systems use.
  • Trains and provides technical support to users.  Acts as a liaison with system vendor reporting all technical problems and tracking resolution of those problems.
  • Studies the software to learn its full capabilities
  • Analyzes and documents system procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of all vendor developments and coordinates software upgrades and new releases.
  • Documents project team minutes and issues.
  • Performs on-call functions.       

Qualifications:

  • Project Management skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously; develop plans for multiple resources, very complex projects and provide effective leadership to project teams.
  • Ability to work with hospital clients and be customer service oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and ability to relate to and provide training to client departments.
  • Ability to analyze moderately complex to complex system problems and provide technical assistance.
  • Ability to utilize a personal computer and software including project planning, report writers, presentation tools, and help desk applications.
  • Be proficient in Siemens OAS Gold Building, have OLIE and Ad hoc Reporting experience.
  • Have experience with Siemens Billing, Financial and Patient Management systems

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associates degree plus 3-5 years hospital computer systems experience.
  • Additional experience may be substituted for required degree.  At least 2 years systems analyst experience and 3-6 months on the job training.
