William M. Miaoulis Appointed to AHIMA's 2009 Privacy and Security Data Practice Council
Dallas, TX – March 17, 2009 – William M. Miaoulis of Phoenix Health Systems, a national provider of healthcare information technology outsourcing, consulting and revenue cycle management solutions, has been appointed by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) to the 2009 Privacy and Security Practice Council. The Council evaluates and advises on the impact of the changing healthcare industry and advancing technology on the privacy and security of health information. The group also offers leading edge recommendations to the AHIMA membership as trends and future objectives are identified.
Council members act as subject matter experts for healthcare privacy and security. The objective of the Council is to focus on the knowledge and skills needed by HIM professionals in the areas of privacy, confidentiality and security of health information. This includes advising HIM professionals on legislative policy direction and industry best practices. The Council also plans and/or influences product and service development to keep pace with industry changes and the federal initiatives regarding electronic health records.
Mr. Miaoulis is a Security Subject Matter Expert with Phoenix Health Systems and leads the company’s recently introduced Total Security Program (TSP) which is designed to offer hospitals and other healthcare organizations a comprehensive suite of security services that assess, remediate and monitor every aspect of the organization’s security operations.
