Carle Foundation Hospital Selects Phoenix Health Systems to Provide IT Disaster Recovery Planning Services

Dallas, TX – November 27, 2007 – Phoenix Health Systems, Inc. (Phoenix), a national provider of healthcare strategic consulting, Information Technology (IT) outsourcing and revenue cycle management services, recently completed an IT Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) engagement with Carle Foundation Hospital and Carle Clinic Association  (Carle) of Urbana, IL.
Phoenix conducted DRP training and awareness sessions, completed extensive interviews with key stakeholders, information systems users, clinical departments, and IT managers, and performed an overall assessment of Carle’s current IT DRP plan.   Phoenix closely examined Carle’s IT business processes; including the Carle IT operations, the Carle IT Recovery Plan, and functional area downtime policies and procedures.

As a result, Phoenix produced a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) with recommendations for improvements to Carle’s infrastructure and procedures to address the risks identified along with recommended enhancements to the existing IT Disaster Recovery Plan.

“Carle was pleased to work with Phoenix to assess the commitment Carle has made to ensuring effective Disaster Recovery Planning,” said Rick Rinehart, Vice President - Information Technology and Chief Information Officer. “We believe that Phoenix’s knowledge of healthcare set them apart which resulted in a quality assessment and guidance for enhancing our DRP planning.”

"Phoenix is delighted to have performed the IT DRP assessment for Carle in direct support of Carle’s efforts to adequately safeguard critical information and their patients" said Darin LeGrange, President and CEO of Phoenix Health Systems. "As a respected knowledge leader in healthcare DRP services, we are committed to providing innovative, cost effective solutions which support the delivery of quality care."
