Total IT Solution

MedspherePhoenix Health Systems Partners with Medsphere Systems to Launch the Total IT Solution to Help Critical Access Hospitals and Small Acute Care Hospitals Meet “Meaningful Use” with an Affordable EMR and IT Outsourcing Solution

Dallas, Texas — May 13, 2010. Phoenix Health Systems, a national provider of health care information technology (IT) outsourcing and consulting solutions, has partnered with Medsphere Systems Corporation to provide the OpenVista® Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to the Critical Access Hospital (CAH) and small acute care hospital markets as part of a Total IT Solution. The Total IT Solution is a unique, innovative and cost-effective EMR built within an IT outsourcing solution that addresses the critical issues that hospitals — particularly small, budget-conscious hospitals — face in the rapid changing healthcare environment today. The solution addresses hospitals' limited resources for effectively managing IT requirements while implementing mission-critical EMR systems in time to achieve “meaningful use” and qualify for federal stimulus funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Phoenix's Total IT Solution provides a timely implementation of the proven OpenVista clinical application suite and an around the clock IT service model that includes leveraged IT leadership, dedicated onsite support, and complete management of the IT function for the hospital. The Total IT Solution is offered to hospitals for an affordable monthly fee, which is an attractive option for organizations unable to commit to the large capital expenditures required to implement most software packages.

“Phoenix is excited about our partnership with Medsphere and the advantages the Total IT Solution provides small hospitals as they struggle to meet meaningful use requirements,” said Phoenix Health Systems President and CEO Darin K. LeGrange. “Small hospitals, because of their size and funding constraints, are in a difficult position in the drive to meet the deadlines for deploying an EMR. The Total IT Solution provides hospitals with a proven EMR system and the knowledge, technology and staffing required to operate an effective IT department.”

Added Medsphere President and CEO Mike Doyle: “One of the great ironies of the American healthcare system is that critical access hospitals, these crucial failsafe facilities, generally can't afford the vast majority of technologies that enable them to improve care. We are very excited and proud to partner with Phoenix Health Systems in making transformational health IT solutions available at a price critical access hospitals can afford.”
